There will be a little bruising and tenderness of the scrotum for 24 - 48 hours after PESA or TESA. Where a skin opening was necessary, the stitches self-dissolve in 10 days and healing is aided by taking twice daily 5 minute baths with small amounts of added salt or disinfectant (e.g. Savlon liquid or Dettol). All surgical procedures carry a small risk of bleeding and wound infection, but in practice most patients are back to full activity within 2 - 3 days.
